5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:5-7)
This is one of the most MISUNDERSTOOD passages in the Bible. Here John is talking about WHERE we are walking NOT HOW we are walking. A lot of people are trying to interpret it as right behaviour and wrong behaviour. Every true Christian is walking in the Light. You DO NOT leave the light because of sin, because the blood cleanses (present active indicative tense in the original Greek text) you anytime you sin. The moment you have a bad thought, the blood cleanses you.
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
God has put us in a fountain filled with blood flowing from Emmanuel's veins. We are in the dispensation of Grace. Just open up to God just as you are and receive His blessings and His blessings will empower you to live right.
